Troubleshoot Strava and Runnify connectivity issues

If you have problems connecting your Strava account with Runnify, we present our complete guide that will help you sync your device.

Do you have problems connecting your Strava account with the Runnify app? In this article we tell you how to solve some Strava synchronization problems - keep reading to get tips that will help you solve these problems!

Are your accounts correctly linked?

One of the most common causes of synchronization errors between Strava and Runnify is that the linked Strava account is not the correct one. How does this happen? This can happen, for example, if you logged into Strava using a social network (like Google or Facebook) that you didn't have linked to your account and Strava created a new account instead of linking it to the one you were already using.

To solve it, you should:

  1. Go to the left dropdown menu > Sync your watch
  2. Check if the synced Strava account is the one you usually use
  3. If it's not the correct one, unsync Strava and link it again, making sure to log in with your main account data

Check Strava permissions

When you link Strava with Runnify, it's essential that you accept all the necessary permissions so that the applications can communicate correctly. Why should I do it? We'll explain it to you, for Runnify to know that you've finished your workout it must "ask" Strava, where you'll save your workout. If Strava has saved your workout, "it has given the ok" that you've completed it, Runnify will mark it as done.

  • Access your Strava profile and go to Settings > Authorized applications
  • Make sure Runnify has permissions to access your activities.

If it doesn't appear, remove all Strava accesses and re-authorize the connection from Runnify.

Sync Strava with Runnify

Sync manually

If you've finished your workout and it doesn't appear completed in Runnify, wait a few minutes: synchronization is not always instant. If after a while it still doesn't appear:

  • Log out of Runnify and log back in
  • Record a new test activity in Strava to force synchronization

Remember: workouts created in Runnify cannot be uploaded to Strava. This is a technical limitation and not a synchronization error.

Disconnect and reconnect Strava

If the problem persists and your account doesn't sync, disconnect your Strava account in Runnify. Sometimes the way we sync our activities with Strava can fail and stop working. But don't worry, you'll just need to sync your Runnify account with Strava again.

  • Access the Runnify app and open the dropdown menu you'll find in the top left
  • Click on "Sync your watch" and remove the Strava connection
  • Re-enable synchronization with Strava and access your account

Sync Strava with Runnify

Check your device synchronization with Strava

Sometimes the failure is in your watch, which stops syncing with your phone, so it also stops syncing your current workouts with the Strava app. Follow these steps to solve it:

  • Make sure your device (Suunto, Apple Watch, etc.) is correctly linked with Strava and that workouts upload without problems
  • If Strava doesn't receive your workouts, Runnify won't be able to either.

If you don't know how to do it or have doubts about connecting your watch to Strava, we suggest you consult the Strava support site for more details: How to record your activities in Strava.
